Arizona Multihousing Association seeks assistance in getting tenants to petition AZ Legislature to Approve Immediate Emergency Funding for Eviction Prevention
Resident Call to Action: Urge AZ Legislature to Approve Immediate Emergency Funding for Eviction Prevention
On Monday, March 23, the Arizona State House of Representatives will consider a budget bill to support Arizona’s most vulnerable by approving a $50 Million-dollar appropriation for housing assistance, including payments to prevent eviction or foreclosure as well as other important COVID-19 related economic assistance.
Please contact your State Representative between now and Monday at 10:00am by phone or e-mail. Ask them to protect Arizona’s renters by approving SB1690 and the $50 million for housing assistance and other COVID-19 economic assistance.
Tell your personal story (i.e. I worked at ABC restaurant and we closed this week).
Arizona unemployment may balloon to 300,000 claims within the next few weeks because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Immediate assistance is necessary, as we don’t have time to wait for the proposed federal stimulus which is 4-6 weeks away.
Contact your two Arizona Legislative Representatives (not all 60) and let them know you live in their legislative district, include your home address.
Over 37% of Arizona residents rent their homes.
How do I find my Arizona Representative?
If you know your AZ Representatives (2) click
here for their contact information (email and phone). If you do not know your AZ Representative go to
https://azredistricting.org/districtlocator/ and look up your Arizona legislative district based upon your address (enter your address in the yellow area at the top of the page). Once you find your Arizona Legislative district number (not congressional district), you may look up your Representatives by their legislative district number on the
member roster.
At this time, you only need to contact your Arizona State Representative. The Arizona State Senate has already approved the funding
Act today. Help us help the state’s most vulnerable renters from losing their homes in the middle of this unprecedented crisis.
Thank you.
